The “visual arts” has never been an area of great strength or talent for me. The nicest thing anyone has ever said about my artistic abilities was when one of my primary school teachers wrote on my school report: “Uses crayon well”! Talk about being “damned with faint praise”!!

However, that’s not to say I am unable to appreciate or value the visual arts. And of course, over the centuries, painting and sculpture and so on have been very significant ways in which human beings have expressed their worship of God, and the Church has been inspired to respond to Him in wonder and praise. I’d love to encourage the artists in our midst at KBC! And to use visual arts in our building to promote and encourage worship.

If you are a person with gifts and interest in this area, I’d love to hear from you – maybe we can get a group together to talk about how this might happen.

I’m keen to help out with my graphic design abilities where possible. I currently do the Youth Group calendar.
